About the Brand

Tierra and Lava is a luxury, ethical vegan skincare and haircare brand out of Guatemala founded over 14 years ago. How to Use

We recommend gently rubbing the fingers on the Plastic Free Natural Sunscreen and use a generous amount on your body and face.  The sunscreen should be applied every two hours for optimal effectiveness. It should be applied more frequently in the case of swimming or frequent perspiration in intense sun exposure. 

How it Works

The FDA recognizes this mineral-based broad-spectrum sunscreen's ingredients (Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide) as "generally safe and effective. The Plastic Free Natural Sunsceen’s mineral ingredients are too large to be absorbed into the skin and bloodstream. This cream only sits on top of your skin as a physical barrier to sun rays making it less likely to cause irritation or an allergic reaction, especially for sensitive skin.

IMPORTANT:

The FDA recommends the Broad Spectrum sunscreen to protect against both the UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are responsible for premature skin ageing, wrinkles and age spots, whereas UVB rays are responsible for sunburn and skin inflammation.

Very high SPF sunscreens only provide UVB protection and decrease UVA protection. A Broad Spectrum sunscreen offers more protection than higher SPF sunscreens because it protects against both.
